Having Bangungot (Bad Dream) In A Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland
May 5, 2014

I just got back from the regional convention of Market America / where I have partnered with for some time now, and we were in Ocean City, Maryland with so many of my partners and their guests. I shared a room with Ed and Mel during this trip, and our room faces the main road of the island that is connected with several bridges to mainland Maryland. The first night, I woke up at around 4am and saw a guy who’s wearing a white t-shirt and who was walking towards the bed next to the window and where Ed, who is a very strong snorer, was sleeping. “He must have gone back from the bathroom and now on his way back to bed,” I told myself while lying on that bed that I was sharing with Mel, and our bed is closer to the bathroom. I didn’t bother to get up right away and decided to go back to sleep as I told myself “Oh, the fourth guy arrived last night as what Mel told me.” And soon we were up in an hour or so to prepare for the long day ahead of us that Saturday.

I would ask my roommates who was the guy I saw earlier, and I would realized that there was no fourth guy who showed up last night. I didn’t really bother to ask for more details as I didn’t want to scare my roommates and didn’t want to create some unnecessary confusion. We all went about doing all the activities we’ve set up for the day with our partners and guests.

The next evening, I had a very bad dream. I heard my brother, Bikong (Angelito, Jr), calling for help. I would see myself in the bad dream looking into a hole on the wall where the stairs leading to the second floor apartment have been placed. I could figure out that my brother’s voice was coming from that hole. I would recall seeing the place where our family used to live in Sibuyan Street in Santa Mesa Heights in Quezon City in the Philippines at least 30 years ago. I would hear myself asking help from my Mother whom I’ve not seen for over 8 years now. Then I was shaken from my bad dream by Mel. He told me I was talking in my sleep but by then, it was already past 5am. I soon got up to head off to the bathroom to pee and I soon went down to settle the bill. In the elevator, I would recall some details of the dream. I could sense something ghostly in the elevator where I was alone as I was going down to go to the ground floor for the front desk.

I’m wondering now if something very grim happened some time ago in that hotel.

Roberto Bolaño’s Devotion by Roberto Bolaño | NYRblog | The New York Review of Books

I saw this link from my Facebook page, and thought the poem’s very outstanding, very much free form, and has allowed me to imagine about some details of some dreams I had in past, very long time ago, that continue to hound me. Its lines are so direct and decidedly undramatic. Reading it, I thought I was watching a brief video on YouTube…Read one of those poems that I believe helps describes the dreaming process each one of us have, and which poem I’ve gathered another online source: Roberto Bolaño’s Devotion by Roberto Bolaño | NYRblog | The New York Review of Books.

Appearing as already dead in someone’s dreams
February 14, 2012

I’ve heard with some unexpressed surprise briefly mentioned stories meant to update ourselves on the details of seeing me already as a dead person in their dreams. One recent dream that was narrated to me involved seeing me in the arms of a very good friend who just kept on crying in his dream, as if he couldn’t be appeased of his grief. All the while, 2 other good friends were around being so sorry and crying, too. But one of them is already dead (he’s the one who was murdered in his apartment in Quezon City, Philippines, days before Thanksgiving Day in 2010 here in the US from where I got the terribly upsetting news).  Why would a dead person appear alive in other people’s dream, I won’t know for sure. I’ve seen my Father many times still being alive in my dreams after he died — and I get a powerful sense that his presence is still very much around, despite the change in form (‘only in dreams do these dead people come alive’).

Months ago, there was also this dream told me by the same person who’s really that close to me whereby he saw me being already dead one nightmarish evening. He said he saw me being so sick and struggling with my life in this different hemisphere of the globe. The time gap between him and myself is 12 hours, and I can just imagine he must be seeing me very much dead in his dreams in the evening while I’m fully

up and awake doing my chores here in NYC.

I can only wonder what these dreams stand for. They’re symbols for certain events that may soon take place. And I’ll have to continue finding better ways to discover what they stand for.

Seeing 2 Dogs Getting Killed in My Dream Last Night!

Killing AUST

I came into scene in my sleep last night where there were others just standing by and watching the proceedings on the killing of 2 huge, hairy but sickly looking dogs. I don’t remember what happened prior to this scene.  One of the dogs was just in its dying few moments before it would be dead – I didn’t hear barking nor violent reaction from the other dog. And then the killing continued with the other dog that went on its knees as if pleading for its life. I remember seeing something similar in real life where I saw a young goat kneeling and behaving as if it’s pleading for mercy but then it still got slaughtered and later on cooked for a grand meal – this is traditional among people who live together for some time up there. This experience happened once when my late Father and myself visited our relatives somewhere in San Emilio, Ilocos Sur in the Philippines. It seemed so savage but we proceeded to actually eat and have the meal among ourselves and others in our clan who showed up for the occasion that was all unannounced because my Father and I just thought of visiting our relatives up north from Metro Manila one New Year’s Day many years ago. And I remember tasting the freshly stewed meat from the very young goat.

And back to my dream, the dog’s head was shattered in an instant by the weapon that was used to exterminate its life. I remember seeing something like a long shotgun but I’m sure it’s not something I’ve seen somewhere else. I’m not sure if I was shocked at seeing these proceedings but I was shocked at remembering the dreams after I woke up for the day.

Other people in the dream were not behaving as usual; it’s as if their emotions are being withheld. I felt like being in a European country that I think I’ve seen in one of those pre-World War I black-and-white movies. And it’s somewhere in the snow-capped mountains but it’s summer! Well…thankfully, I woke up soon.

Repeatedly starting to count money but never being able to finish doing it

Money (reais)

During last night’s dream, I saw myself having to start counting so much money but never being able to finish doing it. I saw myself having to start all over again many times. There were a number of distractions while I was on my way of finishing or close to finishing the count. I got annoyed a bit but I felt some satisfaction. It felt good counting so much amounts of money as if the money is coming from somewhere which I was sure there was always a ready supply of it. I just kept on counting money but I couldn’t finish doing so – towards the end, I saw I wouldn’t be able to know how much money has been coming my way for me to continue counting it. There were always fresh distractions towards the point where I felt I was on the verge of finishing my counting!

Cebu Appearing In A Recent Dream

Skyline of Cebu City

I just wonder why Cebu has recently appeared in one of my memorable dreams, i.e. I remember seeing Cebu in one of my dream. I recall seeing and being flown into attractions of Cebu and parts of its outlying expansive metropolitan areas. I remember feeling happy and relieved but I kept wondering. I remember the particular fragrance of its well-known ‘tabuan’ or the marketplace. I remember the humidity plus the awesome beaches. In any case, I’ve written about Cebu, having been to this major travel destination in the southern part of the Philippine archipelago in Asia at least 20 times before I moved here in the USA. Here’s the article for your perusal: Travel destinations: Cebu, Philippines. And in case you’re planning to include Cebu in your up and coming travels, please feel free to refer to it to help you make up a strong decision.
